Talitha Easterly is going into her sixth year at Washington State University (WSU). She has been a part of Multicultural Student Services throughout her time at WSU, and particularly serving within the African American Student Center (AASC) community. Talitha was the Graduate Assistant for the AASC for four years, and after a year of assistantship through Counseling Services and teaching for Comparative Ethnic Studies, she has now taken on an interim position as the Retention Counselor for the African American Student Center.

Talitha Easterly was born and partially raised in California, but claims Wahiawa, Hawaii ( Island of Oahu) as where she hails from. Talitha graduated from Leilehua High School and then attended Stanford University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in the Spring of 2001. Talitha came straight from Stanford to Washington State University (WSU) in the Fall of 2001 to begin her doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology at WSU. She has completed all of her coursework and exams and as a doctoral candidate, is working on her dissertation focused on race and spirituality on counseling preferences among African American adults.

In her first month at WSU, she met her husband Robert Easterly, who also works within the Office of Multicultural Student Services as the Coordinator for Intercultural Leadership Initiatives. They are both very passionate about their service of love for and within the multicultural community.

Talitha Easterly’s other activities include serving as a mentor through the Athletic Mentoring Program, helping in the coordination of Bible Study and church activities, and serving as an advisor for student organizations - Impact and God’s Harmony, the WSU gospel choir, in which she holds a part in the soprano section. The three greatest goals that Talitha aspires towards include agape or unconditional love for others, enlightened encouragement and becoming a conduit of healing.
