2000 Early Regional Trial

Four of the 20 entries, A8792-1, A8893-1, A9014-2 and ATX9202-3Ru, fried lighter than the standard clones.  The two Norkotah Strains, TXNS102 and TXNS296, fried as dark or darker than any of the standards and darker than any of the other numbered lines; however, they still fried well within the acceptable color range.  Fries from Russet Burbank, Norkotah, TXNS102 and TXNS296 displayed the greatest differences in color between stem and bud ends, ranging from 5.3 to 6.4 reflectance units.  These differences in fry color uniformity were not great enough to negatively influence the final rating.
