Entries Retained from the 2007 Trials Currently in the Tri-State Trial

A96814-65LB, A98345-1, AO96305-3, AO96365-2, and PA00N14-2 were retained from the 2007 Tri-State trial. All clones fried as light as or lighter than Ranger Russet and Russet Burbank. These entries also had lower reducing sugars than the check cultivars. On average, differences in color of fries from bud to stem end were unacceptable for PA00N14-2, Ranger Russet, and Russet Burbank. A98345-1 tubers from Oregon produced fries with considerable dark mottling in the center of the fries. Tubers of all entries were sprouted with sprout lengths ranging from 1.5 to 7 inches following storage for 7 months.
