Current Research Interests

This past summer I had the opportunity to work with Dr. William Willard to conduct research entitled "Klamath Tribes and the Process of Achieving Restoration."  I presented my work at the 2nd annual Washington State University McNair Research Symposium.

Abstract
In 1954, the Passage of Public Law 587 terminated the Klamath Reservation and ended the Klamath Tribes of Oregon as a federally recognized Indian tribe.  The Klamath people suffered the loss of their ancient homeland and their identity. For over twenty-five years of their lives they fought with the U.S. government for the reversal of termination and for the restoration of the government-to-government status.  In 1986, the Klamath tribe was officially restored.  This study seeks to document how the Klamath effectively re-organized to achieve restoration.

Trieu is currently a Master's student in Cultural Anthropology at Washington State University
