Short Bio

My home, McHenry County, Illinois, is one of the most rapid growing counties in the nation. Seeing the landscape change so quickly as a youth has had an enormous influence on my artwork. I use photography to explore concepts of both natural and urban environments and hope to instill in viewers an appreciation for the landscape and those who depend on it.

I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography at Columbia College Chicago and a Master of Fine Arts at Washington State University, Pullman. I am currently working as an instructor at Washington State University and Columbia Basin College where I teach courses in photography, digital art, and professional development. Additionally, I am the Preparator for the Museum of Art/WSU. Recent recognitions include the 2007 Grant for Artists Projects Award and the Pingyao International Photography Exhibition in China.
