Prehealth
Advising Program: Medicine, Dentistry,
Optometry, Veterinary, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy
College
of Sciences
If you are interested in medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary
medicine or other health careers, join the intensive pre-health advising
program when you enroll at WSU.
Advisors will help you select an appropriate major that fits your particular
interests and will assist you in arranging your course schedule to include all
the courses required by medical, dental and other health professional schools.
If you opt for a non-science major, it is especially important to seek assistance
from the Pre-Health Advising Office early in order to optimize course choices.
Your pre-health advisor will help you choose courses you need to succeed.
The Pre-health Advising Office can also help you get the experiences you need
to become a strong candidate for medical, dental, and other health professional
programs. The pre-health advisors can help you improve your interview skills
via mock interviews, provide assistance arranging internships, and arrange opportunities
to volunteer at the Pullman hospital emergency room.
Other resources available at the Pre-Health Sciences Advising Center include:
Study materials for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT),
Dental Aptitude Test (DAT) and Pharmacy College Admissions Test
(PCAT).
Books detailing admission requirements at medical, dental and other professional
schools.
Call 335-4549 if you would like to meet with one or our advisors.
