Meet with a Pre-medical, Pre-dental,
Pre-pharmacy, Pre-veterinary or
Pre-physical Therapy Advisor

The Washington State University Pre-Health Advising Program provides advising for students interested in becoming physicians, dentists, pharmacists, physical therapists and veterinarians. We serve students from the time they first enroll at Washington State University until they graduate and move on to professional school.

Advisors for students who have not yet cho-sen a major are:

Pre-medical, Pre-dental Advisor:   Kay Brothers, Ph.D.

Pre-veterinary Advisor:   Valorie Fisher

Pre-physical Therapy Advisor:   LeeAnn Tibbals

Pre-pharmacy Advisor:   Mark Brownell

Once a pre-health student selects a major, they continue to meet with the pre-health advisors, and they are also advised by a faculty member in their major department. The pre-health advising program helps students prepare to apply to medical, dental and other health professional schools. The advisors help students improve their interview skills in mock interviews, and provide assistance in arranging internships and opportunities to volunteer at the Pullman hospital emergency room. They help you get the experiences you need to become a strong candidate for medical, dental, optometry, or other health professional school.

For students who choose a major in the School of Biological
Sciences, their major advisors are:

For pre-medicine and pre-dentistry students:   Dr. David F. Moffett

For pre-veterinary science students:   Dr. Paul Verrell or Dr. Patrick Carter

For Pre-physical Therapy students:   Dr. Stacia Moffett
