Functions: The Campus Trails Committee meets monthly or as needed. They serve in an advisory
capacity to the Vice President for Business Affairs. Functions that they perform include: 1. To conceptualize a network of safe
trail and other pedestrian /bicycle routes to serve the University campus and to connect with those serving the
community. Work with Campus Planning and Development to develop a master plan for pedestrian and bicycle routes on
the WSU Pullman Campus. 2. To seek input on trail needs from
interested groups and individuals. Campus trails need to support many types of users including commuters,
recreational users, and people with disabilities. Trail users may walk, run, bicycle or use wheelchairs. 3. To coordinate activities with groups
developing other capital projects with the potential for trail components, including new classroom buildings, the
golf course, the recreational play fields, existing recreational facilities, student recreation center and road
improvement projects. 4. To coordinate trail-planning
activities with the city, county, and community groups. 5. To advocate for the inclusion of
trails in the University capital budget. Composition and Tenure: 1. Ten faculty, administrative and
professional personnel, and staff members, and one community member with three-year terms. Members will include the
immediate past chair and chairs from the active subcommittees and representatives from the Land Use Committee,
Department of Capital Planning and Development, and Facilities Operations. Responsible to: The Vice President for
