Functions: 

1.      Serves as an advisory committee to the Vice Provost for Research on all University intellectual property (e.g.) patent, copyright, and trademark, especially with regard to University policy on these matters as detailed in the Faculty Manual.

2.      Reviews all University patent, copyright, trademark, and related matters. 

Composition and Tenure: 

1.      Six faculty, with three-year terms, one of whom will be appointed chair by the Vice Provost for Research.  (F)

2.      Two deans/associate deans of the colleges for three-year terms.  (X)

3.      One member of the administrative and professional personnel or staff, with a three-year term.  (A/P-S)

4.      Vice Provost for Research, who serves as secretary; Director, Intellectual Property Administration; and a representative of the Office of Grant and Research Development.  (#)  (X)
