Functions: l.
Recommends, establishes, implements, and monitors sound editorial, advertising, production, fiscal, and
personnel policies. 2.
Establishes qualifications for all positions on official publications. 3.
Appoints the editors of the Summer Evergreen, Daily Evergreen, and Chinook, plus the advertising manager for
the Daily Evergreen. 4.
Approves all budgets and capital investments and takes responsibility for long-range planning. Composition
and Tenure (From Statement of Policies): 1.
One representative from the offices of Extended University Affairs, Business Affairs (Finance Division);
Student Affairs (Student Activities area); and School of Communication (Journalism); with three-year terms.

Three faculty from outside the School of Communication, at least one representing the ethnic minority faculty,
with three-year terms. (F) 3.
One graduate student, and four undergraduate students, representing the freshman, sophomore, junior, and
senior classes; all with three-year terms. (G-U) 4.
General Manager for Student Publications, who serves as secretary (#) editor of The
Daily Evergreen; advertising manager of The Daily Evergreen; and editor
of the Chinook. (X) Chair
and Vice Chair elected by the Board from the voting student members. Responsible to:
