1. Piano score setup. Double bar at the end.
2. Key of A Major
3. 3/4 meter signature
4. 8 measures long. Two systems, four measures each.
5. Rhythms:
a. Dotted half note: use at least one
b. Half notes: use at least one half note
c. Dotted quarter note followed by one eighth note
d. Quarter notes: use at least two quarter notes
e. Eighth notes: use two eighth notes beamed together. Have two of this example.
f. Sixteenth notes: use four sixteenth notes beamed together at least once
6. Rests: Use at least one each of the following rests
a. Whole rest (worth 3 beats)
b. Quarter rest
c. Eighth rest
d. Sixteenth rest
7. Scale: E Harmonic Minor
Include one E Harmonic Minor scale in your composition with the appropriate accidentals, and vary the rhythms for the notes of the scale.
8. Texture: Monophonic
The notes in the treble clef must have the same note name as the
notes in the bass clef.
The rhythms in the treble clef must be the same rhythm as in the
bass clef.
9. Tempo marks: use an Italian or English tempo word (indicating
how fast the piece is to be
played).
10. Dynamic markings: use three different dynamic marking (indicating at what volume the piece is to be played). Place one mark between the treble and bass clef on beat one of the first measure, and the other two marks where it makes musical sense to you.
11. Place the title of the composition at the top center. Place your name top right, and the tempo word top left.
