JAZZ GUITARIST PERFORMS FREE CONCERT AT WSU TRI-CITIES APRIL 16

TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- Contemporary jazz guitarist Dan Balmer and his trio will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 16, in Washington State University at Tri-Cities Auditorium. Seating is limited.
Voted Portland's "Best Guitarist" by the Portland Music Association in 1993, Balmer is best known for his 10 years of touring and recording with keyboardist Tom Grant. Balmer's original compositions have been used for television, movies and choreographed by Ballet Oregon.
Balmer has released five solo albums including his latest CD, "If We Never Meet Again," which he describes as emotive, original and still accessible to a broad audience.
"The intent of my compositions is to reach people on a tangible, emotional level...," Balmer said.
Joining Balmer will be organist George Mitchell, Diana Ross' accompanist for 18 years, and drummer Jeff Minnieweather, sideman to Portland blues singer Curtis Salgato.
The concert is sponsored by the Associated Students of WSU Tri-Cities.
WSU Tri-Cities is located on University Drive in Richland, just north of Hanford High School. For more information, contact Student Services at 509/372-7231.
