VENEZUELAN MUSICIAN TO PERFORM AT WSU TRI-CITIES
TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- Venezuelan-born singer and guitarist Irene Farrera will give a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at the Washington State University Tri-Cities Auditorium. Seating is limited.
Guests are asked to bring a donation of a canned food item for the upcoming food drive.
Farrera's voice is deep and dusky. She composes in Spanish and English, addressing contemporary social issues with optimism and compassion. Farrera also writes fiery love ballads.
Farrera will perform music from her latest CD, "Soy De Ti," which was produced by steel drum master Andy Narell and includes Farrera's most compassionate and original work. Her previous CDs are the critically acclaimed "Alma Latina," by Redwood Records, and "Walking in the Jungle," by Same Sea Music.
Farrera lives in the United States but tours internationally. She has appeared at many festivals including Bumbershoot in Seattle and El Encuentro in San Francisco.
