Spring Enrollment Figures Posted at WSU Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Washington State University Spokane's full-time enrollment for the 1999-2000 academic year is the highest ever for the campus, just completing its 10th year.

Spring semester headcount has 463 students registered. This represents an increase of 5.7 percent over spring 1999, and is the highest number of students ever enrolled in spring semester.

The full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollment of 383 represents an increase of 9.3 percent. An FTE represents one undergraduate student enrolled in 15 semester credits or one graduate student enrolled in 10 credits.

WSU Spokane has now grown by nearly a hundred FTE students over spring 1998.

"As we continue to develop new models designed to meet Spokane’s needs, we expect our growth to continue," says Campus Executive Officer and Dean Bill Gray. "The graduate certificate in aging and the engineering consortium now under development for baccalaureate completion programs in partnership with Gonzaga and the University of Idaho both represent non-traditional ways of meeting the needs of working adults and putting the knowledge of our research faculty to work in the community through our students."
