- hdf - multi-object file format for transfer of data.
- ImageMagick - display and interactive manipulation of
images for X
- jbig - Highly effective lossless compression algorithm for
bi-level images
- gd - library for creating GIF files
usable on the web.
- giftrans - transform gif from gif87
to gif89, making one color transparent.
- jpeg - Lossless image compression format.
- mapedit - a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You
Get) editor for imagemap files
- mpeg - Multimedia image sequence format.
- pbm - portable bitmap format.
- pict - Pict image format.
- png - Png image format.
- radiance - Radiance image format.
- rle - Rle image format.
- tiff - Tag Image File format.
- webgif - a command line gif
manipulation utility which can set transparency.
- xpm (sxpm) - Show or convert an XPM (X PixMap) file.
- zlib - Image compression format.
