From the excitement of cheering for world-class athletes competing at the highest level of NCAA Division I sports to the thrill of capturing a championship in your favorite intramural sport, you’ll find a wide array of opportunities to get involved in sports-related activities at WSU.

And if team or individual sports aren’t your thing, each of our 5 physical campuses provides facilities for an invigorating personal workout. Lift weights, run, stretch, swim, and more to help maintain your physical and mental health.

NCAA DIVISION 1 ATHLETICS

Discover the thrilling, spirit-building environment created by Cougar student-athletes as they tackle foes from the Pac-12 conference and beyond in football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, tennis and 9 other sports.

Game days are a statewide celebration of Cougar pride you won’t want miss. Join your crimson-clad friends to cheer on the Cougs while creating memories and forging friendships to last a lifetime.

All WSU intercollegiate sports activities are based on the Pullman campus, but students and other WSU community members often road trip to support the Cougs on their home turf.

INTRAMURAL SPORTS

The intramural sports program provides a great variety of competitive and recreational sports leagues, tournaments, and special events for WSU students, regardless of skill level.

Go head-to-head in intense competition against your WSU friends in sports ranging from basketball and dodgeball to sand volleyball and 4-on-4 soccer or opt for competition at a friendly level for those new to various sports.

Sports Clubs

That’s just a sampling of the sports in which WSU students compete at the club level against students from other area colleges and universities.

On the Pullman campus, club sports are student-run groups that operate with the guidance of University Recreation staff to provide competitive and enjoyable programs for students. Each club raises funds and arranges its own competitions.

Students at WSU Vancouver and WSU Tri-Cities can also join campus sports clubs—or form their own.

WSU Global Campus coordinates esports options for Cougs all over.

Recreation
And Fitness

Swim a few laps, lift some weights, circle the track, explore the outdoors—however you like to keep fit, WSU has recreation and fitness centers for you. Outdoor equipment, from skis to kayaks, is available for rent in several locations.

Visit The Den at WSU Tri-Cities, the Student Rec Center at WSU Pullman, or other fitness centers at WSU’s campuses and join fellow Cougs in achieving your wellness goals.
