A Salute to our Graduates

Washington State University honors the accomplishments of its 2003 graduating class during the 107th annual spring commencement ceremonies to be held on the Pullman campus Saturday, May 10. A total of about 2,250 students — 2,000 undergraduates and 250 graduate and professional students — are expected to take part in the three ceremonies.

Graduating from WSU is an exhilarating occasion for each student, providing a time to share feelings of accomplishment with family and friends who watch with pride along with the rest of the commencement audience.

Commencement features a long tradition of academic pomp and circumstance, with participating graduating students, faculty, and administrators all wearing caps and gowns and music provided by the School of Music and Theatre Arts. After keynote addresses for each ceremony, each student's name is read aloud as they come forward to be congratulated by President Rawlins and receive their diplomas. Scott Dickinson, president of the Associated Students of WSU, also will speak

Ceremonies for the Pullman campus will be held at Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum. The ceremonies will help commemorate the commencement venue’s 30th birthday. The first event held in Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum was WSU Spring Commencement on June 3, 1973.

This year's speakers are:
