Cougar
Tin Toaster
My husband (1965 Alumnus) and his family
have been using your empty cheese cans as toasters for camping for
over thirty years.
Small holes are drilled all over
the bottom of the can. A wire is stretched across the top along
with the handle. These support the bread during toasting. The
"toaster" is set on a gas burner with the bread on top.
The holes spread the heat under the bread, toasting it one side
at a time. These "toasters" work better than anything
else we have found.
We would be interested in other ideas
submitted as we have many more cans than we need toasters.
