Unusual Circumstances
Post the following sign on entrances to chemical carcinogen regulated areas during cleanup, maintenance, or repair activities.
Container Identification
Label chemical carcinogens containers with the contents identification including the full chemical name. See S80.60 for information on the Chemical Hazard Communication Program.Prohibited Statements
Make the letters on the container labels between one-half to one inch high.
Include the warning words CANCER-SUSPECT AGENT immediately under or adjacent to the contents identification on containers of chemical carcinogens.
Do not include any statement on or near any required sign, label, or instruction which contradicts or detracts from the effect of any required warning, information, or instruction.STORAGE

The laboratory supervisor trains each worker prior to authorizing entrance to a regulated area in the following:
- The hazards of the chemical carcinogens, including local and systemic toxicity.
- Specific details of the chemical carcinogen operation and of potential risk of exposure.
- The purposes and applications of the medical surveillance program, including methods for self-examination.
- The purposes and applications of decontamination practices and procedures.
- The purposes and significance of emergency practices and procedures.
- Specific information to aid the worker in recognition and evaluation of carcinogens and situations which may result in the release of carcinogens, with subsequent exposure to the worker.
- Specific first-aid procedures and practices.
- Specific emergency procedures and applications. Workers must trained to implement emergency procedures.
