Admission

Admission to the materials science program requires a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). A master of science degree is not a prerequisite for application to the program.

To apply to the materials science Ph.D. program:

1. Apply through the Graduate School either online, by downloading forms, or by contacting them to request forms be mailed to you. Make sure you send them all of the required documents along with the application fee.
    
2. Send the materials science program a copy of everything sent to the Graduate School, along with the following additional documents:
   1. Statement of purpose
   2. Three letters of recommendation
   3. Student Interest Profile [pdf]

The Graduate School and the materials science program must receive ALL of the required documents in order for your application to be considered complete.
