Finances

There are many ways to fund your graduate study. Please check out the options from the graduate school.

Fellowships

The College of Engineering and Architecture and the College of Sciences also offer a number of fellowship awards each year to support selected graduate students who are interested in materials research.

Students interested in materials research also can receive graduate student fellowships or scholarships that can pay for significant portions of their graduate education through the Graduate School or through the student’s department. Graduate students have the opportunity to get stipends to attend conferences and meetings through the Graduate Student Travel Award Program.

Other fellowship opportunities

Several Washington State University graduate students in engineering and science have received prestigious fellowships from government agencies and other private sources. Some of these agencies and programs have included the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Energy’s Computational Science Graduate Fellowship, National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship, the Federal Highway Administration’s Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship, the Environmental Protection Agency’s STAR Fellowship, and the Thomas S. Foley Institute Graduate Fellowship.
