The Edward R. Murrow High School Journalism Awards Competition honors and recognizes outstanding achievements in journalism by high school students. Approximately 75 entries from across the United States were submitted in 2008.
The top students in each category will be honored April 3 at the Edward R. Murrow Symposium luncheon on the Washington State University campus in Pullman. First-place winners and their advisors are guests of the University and will be recognized at the Scholarship Awards and Recognition Banquet that evening. Each first-place finisher receives an award certificate, plaque, and a $50 gift certificate to The Bookie, the WSU Students Book Corporation. Students who placed second, third, and with honorable mention receive award certificates honoring their achievements.
