Locke names Weyerhaeuser exec Gov. Gary Locke named Weyerhaeuser executive Steven Hill of Tacoma to the Washington State University Board of Regents and reappointed Peter Goldmark of Okanogan to the board.
Hill is senior vice president for human resources at Weyerhaeuser Co. He is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and has his master’s degree in business administration from UC at Los Angeles. In 1978, he was named a White House Fellow and served in the Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Energy. Hill also is on the Seattle Symphony’s executive committee. Goldmark is owner and operator of the Double J Ranch. He graduated from Haverford College and received his doctorate in molecular biology from UC at Berkeley in 1971. Goldmark is the former director of the state Department of Agriculture and former chair of the Governor’s Council on Agriculture and the Environment. He has served as a WSU regent since 1996. Indicators used to measure academic quality include academic reputation, student retention, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving and graduation rate performance at Hayward in 1975. |
