Campus Visitors Urged to Plan Ahead
for Dad’s Weekend Events

Pullman, Washington– People coming to campus for Dad’s Weekend (Nov. 9 -12) are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid possible traffic and parking problems. Events on Friday and Saturday will bring many people to campus.

On Friday night at 6:30, the Cougar Men’s basketball team takes on Eastern Washington University at Beasley Coliseum. Later that evening at 8:30, the WSU Women’s Volleyball team takes on Stanford University in Bohler Gym.

On Saturday, events include football versus Stanford at 3:30 p.m. in Martin Stadium. The Doobie Brothers concert follows at 8:30 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum.

“Having these major events on campus is exciting, and we want to get the word out to people to be ready for the parking and traffic challenges,” said Bridgette Johnson, field operations manager for parking and transportation.

Season basketball ticket holders will notice that their usual parking areas will not be available on Friday night due to RV parking for the football game.

Parking and Transportation officials are working with Pullman Transit, WSU Athletics and Beasley Coliseum officials to offer alternatives to help ease parking and traffic problems. Follow this link for the Football Parking Game Plan.

People can use Pullman Transit to get to the game and/or the Doobie Brothers concert. Pullman Transit will provide its usual Saturday service along with extra bus service for the home game. For information on which bus route would be best for you, contact Pullman Transit at 509/332-6535 or the WSU Visitor Center at 509/335-8633.

Visitors who don’t want to fight traffic between the game and the Beasley event may take advantage of several on-campus dining options, including the post-game Cougar Food Fair at Hollingbery Field House and WSU dining centers, including the Hillside Café Late Night, open until 1 a.m., Stephenson Dining, open until 7:30 p.m., and Hillside Cafe, open until 7:30 p.m. Concessions will also be available at Martin Stadium and Beasley Coliseum.
