Special Parking Conditions

Parking on Campus during Semester Start, University Holidays, Vacation Periods, Finals Week and Summer Session.

General Rules
The parking regulations are enforced every day, twenty-four hours a day. However, during certain times Special Parking Conditions exist, the regulations are modified, and parking permits may not be required. The following table provides specific beginning and ending dates for upcoming periods when Special Parking Conditions will be applied. Click on the Special Condition Period to see what permits are required during that time.

Note:
During special parking conditions, restricted spaces remain in effect. These areas include disability, load/unload, service, reserved and specially signed areas.

Special Condition Periods
Semester Start   Follow this link for detail

Semester Start is the period at the start of each semester from the Monday of the week prior to the first day of class through the fifth day of class. Semester Start periods include: the start of fall semester and the start of spring semester, and the first five days of the first block of summer session.

University Holidays   Follow this link for details.
A University Holiday is a day when all university facilities are generally closed. Currently, University Holidays include: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.  For the purpose of parking enforcement, President's Day is considered a University Holiday.  Note: University Holidays could change from year to year.

Vacation Periods   Follow this link for details.
A Vacation Period is a period of time when classes or final exams are not in session. Except for holidays that fall within this period, the business offices of the university are open during this time. Vacation Periods include: Summer vacation which follows summer session, Winter vacation between the fall and spring semesters, Thanksgiving vacation, and Spring vacation.  For the purpose of parking enforcement, President's Day is considered a University Holiday.

Note:  Thanksgiving vacation and Winter vacation also have several days that are considered University Holidays when different special conditions are in effect. Follow this link for University Holiday Special Conditions.

Finals Week   Follow this link for details.
Finals Week begins on the Monday following the fifteenth week of the semester and lasts through the following Friday.

Summer Session   Follow this link for details.
Summer Session includes all summer school blocks beginning on the first day of the earliest blocks, and ending on the last day of the last block.
Note:
Summer Session Special Conditions are different than the Summer Vacation Special Conditions
