|Changes to the Payroll System for the January 2011 RG1 pay cycle:|
New State Minimum Wage
The State hourly minimum rate of pay for those age 16 and older has been increased from $8.55 to $8.67 effective 1/1/2011. The increase affects 1,925 employees and 2,075 positions. For a history of minimum wages click here:
New Medical Aid Rates
The Department of Labor and Industries has changed the rate of payroll deduction from .08390 to .08860 and changed the contribution rate from .17080 to .21130 effective January 1, 2011. The minimum monthly deduction for an employee who works 160 hours in the month has changed from $27.33 to $33.81.
Federal Health Insurance Rates
New premiums have been updated.
Qualified Tuition ReductionsOne-ninth the semester value for Qualified Tuition Reductions (QTR’S) has been processed this pay cycle. The full value is $3,917.00 divided by 9 = $435.23 per pay cycle. QTR’s cannot be charged to State funds. QTR’s are contributions pay by the department. The cost of the QTR is shown in the contributions portion of the QPREXP conversation in HEPPS Inquiry. 309 QTR’s were processed.
Graduate Health Insurance
One-ninth the semester value for Graduate Health Insurance (GTN 251) has been processed this pay cycle. Like QTR’s the contribution to Graduate Health is shown in the contributions portion of the QPREXP conversation of HEPPS Inquiry. The full value is $710.00 divided by 9 = $78.89 per pay cycle. 1472 Graduate Health transactions was processed for graduate assistantships on 50% or greater appointment.
Spring Work Study LimitsThe 2011 Spring Semester Work Study limits from Financial Aid have been updated in the Payroll System affecting 1104 students.
2010 W-2 Forms and 1099R Forms
IT has completed the printing of the W-2 Forms and Mailing Services should have them in the mail the week of January 21. The on-line version of the W-2 form was made available January 14, 2011.
