Frequently Asked Questions regarding Step M are available on the HRS website under Resources http://hrs.wsu.edu/Resources%20Homepage
6.

Withholding statuses changed:

The Internal Revenue Service has removed the percentage method of withholding from the W-4 form instruction so earlier this year we notified over 400 active employees that they needed  to change their withholding status by July 12. Withholding statuses were changed to the designation of “Single” with “0” withholding allowances for 2579 former and active employees who had not submitted valid W-4s by the published July 12 cutoff.  Employees can always submit a new W-4 form at any time to Payroll Services. Forms can be downloaded from the front page of payroll’s website or from the IRS website.
