Research Interests:

Multicultural Psychology and Health Psychology

My research explores developmental concerns and the role of resilience and empowerment within the broader scholarly areas of multicultural psychology and health psychology.

In the area of multicultural psychology, I am part of a cross-disciplinary team which is  using a strengths-based model to understand the persistence of college students who are from historically underserved populations.  Using surveys and semi-structured interviews, my colleagues and I are examining how students make sense of their college experience, experience a sense of belonging, and utilize both resources and practices to experience success.

In the area of health psychology, I am interested in the adjustment of survivors of childhood cancer.  In an emerging line of research, I am examining how identity development as a survivor of childhood cancer may relate to young adult survivors’ health/wellness and academic/career decisions.
