Graduate Student Domestic Partner Benefits
Graduate Assistant Health Benefits
The WSU Graduate Student medical policy DOES NOT include a dependent coverage
option. For more information see:
http://www.wsu.edu/benpay/benefits/gradstudins/index.htm
Graduate Student Assistants who wish to cover dependents have several
options from insurance carriers that offer individual coverage. For information
on these polices and premium costs, see http://www.insurance.wa.gov/.
The State of Washington also offers a subsidized-premium policy called the
Basic Health Policy (BHP), which provides comprehensive coverage at a low price
for qualifying families. The BHP may have a waiting list for coverage up to 6
months. A temporary policy or individual policy may be purchased to provide
coverage while waiting for BHP coverage to begin. For information on the BHP,
see http://www.wa.gov/hca/basichealth.htm.
At this time there is no coverage for domestic partners for graduate students
who are on assistantships.
Graduate Students Not On Assistantship Health Insurance
