Interaction Seminar Archive

On a rainy Wednesday May 28th, from 3 to 5 pm, interested members of the community came together in the Z Lab of the Studnet Advising and Learning Center to share expertice and experiences with Interaction.

Premise: As more and more faculty and staff gain experience with Web based instruction, it seems that the key to good instruction lies in the Web's communication and interaction functions.

Dr. Gary Brown highlighted this by reminding us that Netscape's new browser is now called "Communicator." Where the Web was once a broad(narrow)cast medium, it is now becoming a two-way communication mechanism. As our instructional uses of the Web respond to this change in function, interaction will become a more prominant function of our Web-based instruction. Very soon now, using the Web for purely broadcast uses, or as a distributed printing mechanism, will be outdated and inferior pedagogy.
