    <dd>A Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows secure communication between systems on a Public Internet. The depreciated 'wsunexus' wireless network requires  a VPN client to be configured on your device. VPN also facilitates off campus user access to IP restricted services. </dd>
    <dt>No Longer Required for General Pullman Campus  Wireless Use</dt>
    <dd>The  'WSU Wireless'  SSID on the WSU Pullman campus allows users to connect securely without using a VPN client. <a href="../wireless/wiIndex.htm">More Info...</a></dd>
    <dt>VPN Clients Supported</dt>
    <dd> WSU Pullman supports <acronym title="Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol">Point to Point Tunneling Protocol</acronym> (PPTP) VPN clients in the latest versions of the Microsoft Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. Support is also provided for the IP/Sec VPN Cisco client.</dd>
    <dt>Choosing PPTP or IP/Sec VPN Client </dt>
    <dd><a href="PPTP.html">PPTP Clients</a> are the easiest to configure, they support PDAs. The<a href="IPSec.html"> Cisco IP/Sec Client</a> provides additional security through the use of a certificate and is recommended if using multiple computers from home.     <dt>Valid User ID Required </dt>
    <dd>You must have either a valid WSU Network ID or a Sponsored Friend ID to use the VPN Client to connect to the WSU campus network. Call 509-335-4357 (HELP) for more about user ID's. </dd>
