Living Grammar Scrapbook Rubric

 

check-plus = excellent

check = adequate

check-minus = barely okay

X = wrong

zero = not present / no evidence

 

As usual, I grade holistically; criteria do not necessarily carry the same weight.

 

I. Minimum requirements

o   5 sections

o   # of examples per sections

o   authentic, acceptable examples

o   sufficient analysis

o   scrapbook form with binder and plastic sheets, divided by sections, with pages numbered consequently

o   TWO copies of Table of Contents (one stapled, loose, for grading purposes; the other copy, in plastic sleeves)

 

II. Quality of analysis

o   knowledge of grammatical/mechanical terminology

o   knowledge of grammatical/mechanical concepts, (explanations may be grammatical, nongrammatical, or both)

 

III. Quality of examples

o   range of examples in Sections 1, 2, & 3

 

IV. Effort

o   exceeded minimum requirements for # of examples

o   exceeded expectations for presentation / scrapbook shows extraordinary effort and care
