Palouse Cultural Events Calendar

Go to list of current events.

This list of events is provided as a public service by Paul Brians, in hopes that people living in the Pullman/Moscow region of the Palouse will more easily discover the wealth of exhibits, concerts, plays, etc. available in our area. Special attention is given to cultural events which may not be widely publicized elsewhere. Performances by popular rock bands, etc. in local taverns are not included, nor are most performances conducted by local churches primarily in connection with religious services.

Many of the users of this calendar will be students trying to fulfill an assignment to attend a cultural event. If you are in Paul Brians' World Civilizations 110 course you should read read the page about this assignment. Events which may be used to fulfill Paul Brians' assignment are marked (PB). Although you are required to report on only one, most students say that they wish they had attended more and regret having put off going. Try one early, you may find it habit-forming.
There is also an WSU Events Calendar which you may also want to consult. It differs from this calendar in several significant ways. It includes meetings, scholarly lectures, athletic events, and other events which do not fall under the definition used here of "cultural events." It lacks some WSU events, such as the ASWSU films, does not include any University of Idaho events, or community-based events in Pullman and Moscow. This calendar also provides hotlinks lacking in the official WSU calendar to give you more information about events (reviews of the films being shown on campus, for instance) and information about the venues of events (where to park, best seating, etc.). So even though the two overlap a good deal, you may want to use both.
