Films That Have Never Been Shown in the Palouse

Note: this page is no longer being actively maintained. It is somewhat out of date; the UI series has shown some of the films listed below. I'm leaving it here just as a useful list of interesting movies for my own private use when traveling.

The Audian and Cordova in Pullman and the Eastside Cinema in Moscow are the commercial theaters most likely to show these films. More adventurous offerings are often shown at the Kenworthy in Moscow, run as a nonprofit enterprise by Moscow Community Theatre (see the Palouse Cultural Events Calendar for listings--these films are not advertised commercially). The most comprehensive source for independent, classic, and foreign film rentals is Book People, between the two movie theaters in downtown Moscow. I also recommend getting a dish antenna and buying either the Independent Film Channel or the Sundance Channel.

There are some very good films shown free or at very low cost on the WSU and U of I campuses. You can learn about them by consulting the Palouse Cultural Events Calendar.
