3-21-08. For Tuesday, you'll be reading three pieces:
"The Monster" (in your book) Here are the links to the information we discussed yesterday.
1. To get to the MLA bibliography, click on Online Databases (above or here: http://www.systems.wsu.edu/Griffin/Indexes.htm->Databases A to Z -> Type in MLA -> put your terms in the search box.
2. To get to the Cornell Making of America Site: Click on the graphic on the lower right corner of our main page or here: http://www.wsu.edu/~campbelld/amlit/sites.htm. Scroll down to Nineteenth-Century Periodicals; it's the first link.
3. To get to the Historical New York Times, go to the Griffin catalogue (http://griffin.wsu.edu) and make sure that Title and not Keyword is selected. Search for "historical New York Times."
4. To use the Amazon applet for Firefox I showed you, which you can use to see whether books from the Amazon or Barnes and Noble sites are available at WSU or Summit, go to my main page: http://www.wsu.edu/~campbelld/index.html. Look on the left hand side below the sidebar. The links are there; just drag and drop them onto the Firefox toolbar.
Remember, for those of you who may have missed a weblog post either last night or at another time, you can post an "extra credit" post on April 10, the day we don't have class.
3-17-08. Due to an error on the original syllabus, I've made changes to the assignments for the rest of the semeter. A copy of this revised syllabus will be handed out in class on Tuesday.

Since Blogger has decided that I am not a threat after all, and it is letting me post to the comments on your blogs again, I've moved my comment on Brad's post back to his blog. Also, since we are not reading anything new this week, there are no weblog posts due this week. 2-16-08. Study guide for Exam 1. 2-13-08. Class summaries of the articles on Moby-Dick. 2-11-08. You can see which critical readings you signed up for here. 2-7-08. "Genres of Moby-Dick" online. 2-4-08. Because of last Thursday's snow day, we will continue with the reading assignment in Moby-Dick listed for that day rather than moving on. The syllabus has been updated to reflect these changes. Also, since some of you experienced power outages in your homes, I've extended the deadline for last week's weblog post to Tuesday, 2/5, by 9 p.m. 1-18-08. Also, the date for the weblog post due 2/21 has been changed to 2/28, since we won't be reading anything new during the week of 2/21. 1-15-08.
