Time Management & Goal
Setting
OBJECTIVE:
The main goal today is to investigate various time management
techniques which can be utilized to help you succeed during and
after college. We will also help you get the most out of the time
you have by setting weekly goals which will be a progress check
on your time management skills.
ACTIVITIES:
- group discussion
- "Mind Talk"
- "Weekly Study Schedule"
- "T.I.D." exercise
ASSIGNMENT:
- brainstorm ideas for the question, "What takes up your
time?"
- fill out "Weekly Study Schedule"
- do "T.I.D." exercise
HOMEWORK:
- continue to use T.I.D. cards for daily success
- prepare "Weekly Study Schedule" before school week
begins
- find at least three more hours per week for study time and
one more hour of free time
RESOURCES:
- CATS - a program that presents weekly workshops for freshmen
who want to achieve academic and social a success at WSU
- SALC - in Lighty Student Services Building; various academic
success handouts and resources available here; also has tutoring
- 1997-98 Student Handbook/Calendar (obtainable from Student
Affairs in Lighty Building - 3rd Floor if you do not already have
one)
