Add a Link

Extra Credit has never been easier. Begin by taking a look at the permanent collection of links. Then take a look at the links on the Addlink page below. Only new links, not those previously listed at either of these two sites will be accepted. Add your new link below, assigning it to a suitable category and making sure to include a brief, description and assessment. Then turn in a half page typed explanation of why this would be a useful link for future Theat.160 students. Worth up to 5 points (may be repeated only once).

Plays (Themes, Issues, Reviews, etc.)

2. Overview of M. Butterfly (http://www.eng.fju.edu.tw/Literary_Criticism/postmodernism/examples/butterfly.html)
Very easy site to use. It outlines the play and provides further links backgrounding gender, subject, and history.
(Gwen Davis--Jun 13, 2005 09:01 AM)

3. Internet Movie Date Base (http://www.imdb.com)
If you search for M. Butterfly, the review for the movie comes up. I thought this was helpful because it provides a summary of the plot, characters, etc...also since we did not get to watch the whole movie, this site is very helpful.

4. Dramatists Play Service, Inc (http://www.dramatists.com/)
This site allows you to search for any play available. it lists them in different catergories, and gives a description of the play.

A link to Facebook's group for theater, a good place to start in discussion and dive deeper into any facet of theater you would wish to find.
(Jeff Gugliotto--Jun 13, 2010 02:34 PM)

9. New York Time's Review of Plays (http://theater.nytimes.com/pages/theater/index.html)
I am submitting this link because the New York Times is a great place to form a base opinion on any play. It is also a good place to examine what others are saying. Can't say that you won't get some snobbyness, but it is a good start to sink one's teeth into contemporary theater.
(Jeff Gugliotto--Jun 13, 2010 02:30 PM)

10. SparkNotes study guide (http://www.sparknotes.com/drama/)
This link provides everything you need to know about a play. Each play goes through each act, scene, plot overview, analysis of characters, so on so forth. It allows the reader to better understand what the play is about. They are able to get a better connection with the play.
