An Interpretation of William Blake An over all interpretation... Hmmm. Would Blake want to be interpreted? Yes, I believe he wanted to be read but interpreted sounds to academic for what Blake wanted to convey. My study of Blake's writing up to this point leads me to believe that he wanted people to see Life in there own experience. He knew where that would lead and he believed in exposing everything for what it is in reality. At times I really had trouble reading some of his poetry and I realize this was his way of testing our deepest believes. Although at the wrong times in life such testing can be detrimental I feel I endured the test along with all my beliefs. In this testing process I was surprised that I was getting so upset with other peoples interpretations of Blake's writing. It was especially hard if I felt I had understood the writing. I felt akin to Blake when he was interpreted and wondered at how much he wanted to say of the things he saw. To believe that people will be led by life's path to a complete understanding and experience of Life is an aspect of Faith. And this Faith is encouraged by Blake's writing while he exposes the Death that we choose to live in. Fore, it is my experience when we look for the Life in Truth we will be lead by this Faith out of the Death that also has its place in Truth. "Climbing a poem" A few words for the image I have created: "Hang Loose" is an image of what rock climbing is to me. My use of the phrase "Hang Loose" is be no means meant to limit it from its other definitions. Please don't dwell on my creation...step outside and enjoy Creation. |
