2. "great elements": earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, understanding, self-consciousness. "individuality": ahamkara, or the sense that one is a separate and distinct individual. The eleven senses and the five objects of sense are products of nature (prakriti), and so they are sources of ignorance (avidya).
