13. "Brahmic bliss": brahmanirvana, or the "extinction in Brahma." This is the state in which the self, atman, completely identifies itself with Brahman, or the Infinite Spirit. The remaining verses in this teaching define how one attains Brahmic bliss after death, or, in the case of ascetics, during one's own lifetime.
