Model Merger Exercise:
The Brine Shrimp of Mono Lake
It is often useful to merge two models dealing
with different aspects of a system because the combined model may teach
us something new.
That is, we might gain insights into system behavior that could not be gained
from operating the two models separately.
This exercise provides an opportunity to merge two models dealing with different
aspects of Mono Lake.
You may use the combined model to reexamine the export policies from Chapter
4.
In the process, you may discover that the whole model turns out to be more
than simply the "sum of its parts."
