Siemens XRD

The GeoAnalytical Laboratory houses a Siemens D-500 X-ray powder Diffractometer which is used primarily for identification and characterization of solid phases. The system is supported with Materials Data Jade 6.5 software and searchable ICDD powder diffraction file for phase identification. We currently do not provide powder diffraction analysis as a service but special projects and/or access to the instrument can be provided on a fee basis. In compliance with Washington State law users must have training in the operation of X-ray diffraction equipment and a dosimeter.
