9th Annual STAGE One Production at WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University’s theater program, in
conjunction with STAGE, will put on the ninth annual STAGE One production
at 8 p.m. Oct. 3 - 6 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 7.

STAGE One is a night of four original one-act plays that are written,
directed, and produced by WSU students. The four shows were chosen by a
committee of STAGE members and a faculty supervisor.

The first play is “Layover,” by Lonnie Stuart. A story about Charlie, a 15
year-old boy, whose layover in Topeka, Kan. is anything but typical after
he is unwittingly party to a perfect con committed by his uncle Victor.

The next play is “Reunion,” by Alan Peery. In this performance, four
friends reunite and they discover that their loyalties may not lie where
they think they do when one of them decides to betray the former group leader.

The third play is “Pouring Rain,” by Laura Karavitis. A story about Rainy
and Brian, best friends, and the secret Rainy is hiding about her mentally
disabled mother which could tear them apart forever.

The final play is “Duel,” by Steven Stoves. What happens when you compare
dating and relationships to something equally as dangerous, say, armed
robbery? You get a hilarious one-act that explores the mind of Ben, a
recently dumped guy trying to sort through the meaning of his personal
relationships.

All performances are rated PG and are located at Wadleigh Theatre in Daggy
Hall. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7.50 for seniors, $5 for students with
WSU ID and free for graduate and professional students and their domestic
partners.
