Wiley Research Exposition

The WSU Graduate and Professional Student Association
and the Graduate School are pleased to announce the:

2007 Dr. William R. Wiley Exposition
of Graduate and Professional Studies

Abstract Deadline: February 09, 2007
Exposition: Tuesday, February 20th,
Beasley Coliseum Concourse

The annual Wiley Exposition of Graduate and Professional Studies provides graduate and professional students an excellent opportunity to present their original research or scholarship to peers, faculty, and the general public. It also provides the GPSA and Graduate School an opportunity to honor those students engaged in what is the central purpose of their graduate or professional careers.

The Call for Submissions

All graduate and professional students enrolled during the spring of 2007 are invited to enter the Exposition and compete for awards. Undergraduate students also are invited to present their research or scholarship but are not eligible to compete for the awards.

To enter, students must submit an abstract or summary of scholarly activity which represents original, unpublished research and/or scholarship of the student conducted while at WSU. Submissions will be reviewed by the Wiley Exposition Committee and faculty judges.

Abstract/Summary Deadline and Format

Abstracts and summaries must be submitted to the GPSA Office (203 Ad Annex). You will need an abstract submittal cover sheet and five (5) copies of the abstract must be included. The first copy of the abstract/summary must include a header containing (1) the abstract title and (2) the name of the student and their department. The remaining copies should contain only the body of the abstract. Submitted abstracts and summaries must not exceed 250 words.

  Presentations

The Wiley Exposition will be held February 20th, 2007 in the Beasley Coliseum Concourse. Presentation formats include research posters and other formats appropriate to the specific scholarly work to be presented. All research presentations will be in poster format.

Students whose abstract/summary has been accepted will be asked to follow the instructions below to prepare their paper and their  presentation. Please read the following instructions carefully.

Poster Presentations

For posters, the available display area measures 8 feet horizontally and 4 feet vertically. You or your associates must place your own poster on an assigned display board at the time of presentation. All mounting supplies are the responsibility of the presenter. Heavy-duty tacks are suitable. Note that two posters will be mounted on each display board, front and back.

Plan on your poster being on public display for the day. Then each presenter is responsible for removing all presentation and mounting materials.

Other Presentation Formats
Presenters planning to use a format other than the poster to present theirwork should contact Erika Miller <vpgpsa@wsu.edu > regarding their presentation needs. It is expected that most non-poster presentations will be scheduled during the Wiley Exposition reception.
