Course Objectives are to help you to understand:

1.  the overview of biotechnology

2.  the principles of enzyme and cell kinetics, bio-reactor design, sterilization, agitation, and aeration 

3.  how chemical engineering principles can be applied to biological processes

     Homework

1.  Use engineering or plain paper, one side of each page. 

2.  Late homework will not be accepted unless it is arranged with me in advance.

3.  The time for questions on homeworks will be provided at one class period before it will be due. You may send me emails to clarify some ambiguity of  problems.

     Examination and Final Grade

1.  Two mid-term examinations and a comprehensive final examination are planned.

2.  No excuses for missed exams will be accepted other than certified medical excuses.

3.  The approximate contribution to the term grade is as follows:
