Water use: Low; can grow in many parts of the west with no supplemental
irrigation.

Light: Full sun.

Size: 12-15 inches tall and wide.

Plant habit: Loose clumps of wiry branches with ferny, gray-green
leaves. Bright flowers open on the ends of the branches.

Season of bloom: Continuously from early summer until frost. Bloom
is heaviest early in the season.

Flower colors: Most are bright orange. Some plants produce yellow,
white, red, or pink flowers.

Culture: Plants generally are not available from garden centers
and must be started from seed. Seeds are typically sown outdoors in the
place they are to be grown.

Maintenance: Plants produce viable seeds which will germinate the
following year.

Pests/Diseases: Relatively free of insect and disease problems.

Other: Seeds of plants with doubled flowers (extra petals) are available.
