Research Interests

My primary research interests involve Reproductive Physiology, with an emphasis on Swine.  I am currently assisting with Ovari-Hysterectomy Surgeries and Heat/Preg. Checking in one of W.S.U.'s Animal Science lab.  My personal research project involves inducing parturition in sows and watching their behavior to the treatments.

Biography
Hello, my name is Michelle Conover.  Currently I am a Junior at Washington State University, majoring in Animal Sciences.  I grew up in a small town in Western Washington called Castle Rock; population less than 2,500 people.  I attended Toutle Lake School for my primary education and graduated in 1997 as Valedictorian of my senior class.  During my senior year I also I participated in the Running Start Program while attending Lower Columbia Community College.

My activities and involvements at W.S.U. include: Student Swine Cooperative, the Agriculture and Home Economic Student Senate, the National Wildlife Society, the Alpha Zeta fraternity, and currently the McNair Achievement Program.  I plan on graduating in May, 2001 with a B. S. in Animal Sciences.  Following this, I am planning on attending graduate school to specialize in an area of Swine Production, possibly Swine Reproduction or Behavioral Studies.

Aside from my education, I am also very active in outdoor activities. During the summer you will find me mountain climbing, camping, water skiing, and fire fighting.  During the winter, I will usually be found on the slopes ski-boarding.

Michelle is currently a Ph.D. student at Purdue University
