Jose Garcia
Foreign Language

jose@wsu.edu

My name is Jose Garcia.  I am the oldest of three children.  I was born and raised in Moses Lake.  I attended Moses Lake High School.  While attending Moses Lake High School I was treasurer of my class and very active in varsity sports.  I played basketball, baseball, soccer, and ran cross country.  I had always known that I wanted to attend college so I applied to Central Washington University and was accepted.  After a year I transferred to a community college where I graduated with my AA. I am currently enrolled at WSU and pursuing a BA in Spanish.  I have been fortunate enough to find three part time jobs in my area of study.I have been approved by the Head of the Foreign Language Department to tutor all undergraduate Spanish classes, so I tutor students at least three times a week.  I also teach an advanced conversational Spanish class, for WSU faculty, Monday through Thursday in Wegner Hall.  Last but not least I teach in the Colton School District. In Colton I teach Spanish to 4th and 5th graders and tutor sophomores in english.

I am going to graduate from WSU with a BA in Spanish and a minor in biology in the spring of 2000.  After graduating I plan to attend one of the graduate schools of my choice to pursue an MA in Spanish.  After my MA I want to further my education and earn my Ph.D. in Spanish. Eventually I would like to find a job as a professor at a university that matches my personality.
