Biography
Guillermo Macias was born December 12, 1977 in Culver City,
CA. He is the second oldest of seven children. Guillermo
was raised in Maywood, CA for half of his childhood, then in La
Puente, CA where his mother and siblings currently live.
He was fortunate enough to be admitted to a private Catholic high
school, where he excelled in and out of the classroom, graduating
at the top percent of his class. Upon completion of high
school, Guillermo was rated as the tenth best high school 400-meter
runner in the nation. He received an athletic scholarship
from Washington State University”s track and field team.
Guillermo decided to work on his degree in Business Administration
with an emphasis in Management Information Systems, where he has
excelled beyond many people's expectations. In his sophomore year,
Guillermo took his track and field talent to a new level.
He ran the 400-meter leg of the Distant Medley Relay team that
not only won in the 1998 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships,
but also broke the world record. Currently, Guillermo is
working on ending his track and field career with a dramatic finish.
He is underway to completing one of his sought after goals, receiving
his degree. Guillermo will be the first member of his family
to receive a college degree. He has made his family proud
as well as himself. Under development is the start of graduate
school and beyond.
