Guangxin Xie is a Master's student in the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication. Mr. Xie earned his B.A. in English/Communication from Sichuan University, Chengdu, China in 2001. He works as a teaching assistant for Comm 101: Mass Media&Society, Comm 270: Communication Theory; and as research assistant in the New Media Lab in the School of Communication.
His research interests include Marketing Communication, Advertising Psychology, and Marketing Research Methods. Mr. Xie has been involved in a great variety of research projects. At this time, he is working on effective message design of hypertext, and human cognitive processing of advertisements. i *

Meagan Irey received her undergraduate degree in Communication from Washington State University in 2002. She also spent a year as an exchange student in Australia, and while there, enjoyed learning about different cultures and fuzzy animals like the wombat seen in the photograph.
Maegan has just finished working on a project exploring the relationship between different kinds of television viewing (information, entertainment, etc.) and stereotypes, and her paper has been accepted for presentation at the 2003 Association of Education in Journalism and Mass Communication Conference.
Her current project explores college students' attitudes toward Asian female professors.

| Robin Sutherby earned her Associate of Arts degree at Grays Harbor Community College in
Aberdeen, Washington, and her
Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Washington State University where she also minored in Spanish. Robin received
a research fellowship which was granted by the university's Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program in April 2003.
Robins research focusses on Public Relations, but she also explores the
behavior of rebellious teens and their reactions to anti-substance abuse messages. In the future, Robin hopes to work in the area of health care relations, but she would also like to explore the arena of corporate or agency public relations and
non-profit public relations with a disability focus.

Yvonnes Chen is a Master's student at the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication. Yvonnes received her Bachelor's
degree in Journalism from Shih-Hsin University, which trains professional reporters in Taipei, Taiwan.
Yvonnes' research interests are in the field of Health Communication. Her current project is about psychological reactance and personality traits. Yvonnes hopes to get her PhD at Michigan State University. i *

David Goehner from
Dryden, Washington,
is a Master's student in the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication. David
holds a bachelor of arts degree with majors in publication design and journalism plus a minor in political science. Prior to enrolling at WSU for graduate studies, David held leadership positions in public relations and communications at three colleges/universities, worked as an award-winning reporter, and authored a published book. Currently pursuing a thesis examining effects of political advertising, David is in his final year of graduate work toward completing a master's degree in communication, with an emphasis in advocacy communication (public relations and advertising). i * |
